Betting: your one bet, all-in and side pots
Play money only. No prizes. 18+ only.
Betting in Dompe is short and simple. There is no raising and there are no betting rounds to keep track of: there is the ante, and each player gets one bet per hand.
Your one bet
- You may make one bet per hand, only on your own turn: before you draw, together with your draw, or after you draw and before you dump.
- Everyone else must call (match it) or fold (give up the hand). Nobody can raise.
- Calling someone else’s bet never uses up your own bet. You can call several bets and still make yours.
- Your bet is made before anyone sees your cards, so it is the one place to bluff.
How big can a bet be?
- Regular tables: up to the ante. With a 15-chip ante, the most you can bet is 15.
- High Rollers tables: up to the ante times the number of players dealt in. With a 10-chip ante and four players, the most is 40.
All-in for less
If you do not have enough chips to call, calling puts you all-in with everything you have. You stay in the hand, but you can only win the main pot: the part that everyone, including you, put in.
Side pots
The extra chips that you could not match go into a side pot for the other players. When the hand ends:
- The winner of the hand takes the main pot.
- If the winner is in the side pot too, they take it as well.
- A side pot the winner is not part of goes back to the players who put it in, each getting back exactly what they added.
- If everyone else in a side pot folds, the last player in it takes it straight away, and the hand goes on for the main pot.
Example: the ante is 10. Ana bets 10. Ben has only 4 chips left, so he calls all-in for 4. Cruz calls the full 10. If Ben lays down a winning hand, he takes the main pot (the antes plus 4 from each of the three players), and the 6 that Ana and Cruz each added beyond Ben’s 4 go back to them.
Running low? The game offers free ways to get more play-money chips. Chips can never be sent to another player or cashed out.
