Dompe FAQ
Play money only. No prizes. 18+ only.
Answers to the questions we hear most about El Comi’s Dompe, a free play-money six-card game. If your question is not here, ask us on the contact page.
Is Dompe free to play?
Yes. Dompe is a free-to-play card game, and you never have to pay to play. Everything in the game is play money.
Does Dompe use real money?
No. Dompe uses play-money chips only. Chips have no cash value and never cash out. Coins never cash out either, and nothing in Dompe carries a prize. No one can win or lose real money in the game.
Who can play?
Dompe is for adults. You must be 18 or older. Sign-up asks for your date of birth so we can check that.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You create a free player account with a player name and a password, confirm your email address with a code, and mint your coin. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the delete-account page.
What is a coin?
When you sign up, you mint one personal coin: a collectible game item with your player name on it and a back design and ring color that you choose. A coin has no cash value.
How many players are at a table?
Two to seven. You can practice at a table with computer players, or join a live table with other players. Both use play money.
What does the Joker do?
The Joker is fully wild. It can stand in for any card to complete one of the winning hands. If it could make more than one hand, it counts as the highest one. Read more in how the Joker works.
Which hands win?
El Comi (four of a kind plus a pair of a different rank), a 6-card straight flush, a 6-card flush, a 6-card straight, and three pair. You must use all six cards. The first valid hand laid down wins. See the rules.
Why does a full house not win?
Winning hands must use all six of your cards, so a regular five-card hand such as a full house does not count by itself. With the Joker, a full house can turn into El Comi.
What is El Comi?
El Comi is the name of the top winning hand in Dompe: four of a kind plus a pair of a different rank. It is also the name of the game’s host character, and the game is called El Comi’s Dompe.
What is the ante and what is my one bet?
The dealer picks an ante from 5 to 25 chips each hand, and everyone puts it in. On your own turn you may make one bet. Everyone else can only call or fold; nobody can raise. The details are in the rules.
Why do chip amounts show a dollar sign?
It is only a symbol for play-money chips. Chips are not dollars and cannot be exchanged for money.
What happens if I run out of chips?
The game offers ways to get more play-money chips for free when you run low. Because chips are play money, running out never costs you anything real.
Can I send chips to a friend?
No. Chips cannot be sent to another player or exchanged for anything outside the game.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Dompe runs in your phone or computer browser, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.
Where can I read the rules inside the game?
Tap the question-mark button at a table or the rules button in the lobby for the same rules that are on our rules page.
How do you handle my information?
Read the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service. To ask about your information, write to us on the contact page.
