Dompe basics: your first hand

Play money only. No prizes. 18+ only.

Dompe is a quick six-card game for two to seven players. This guide walks you through one hand. Everything is play money: chips have no cash value and never cash out.

1. The ante

Each hand starts with the ante. The dealer picks it, from 5 to 25 chips, and everyone at the table puts that amount in the pot.

2. The deal

You get five cards. The first player to the right of the dealer gets six, checks for a win and dumps one card face up in the middle.

3. Your turn: draw, check, dump

  1. Draw. Take the card the last player just dumped, or draw the top card of the deck. Now you hold six.
  2. Check. Do your six cards make a winning hand? If they do, press DOMPE and lay it down. The pot is yours.
  3. Dump. If not, dump one card face up. Play moves counter-clockwise to the next player.
One turn: draw, check, dump. (12 seconds, no sound)

4. The winning hands

A winning hand always uses all six cards:

The first valid hand laid down wins. A regular five-card hand such as a full house does not count. The Joker is wild and fills any gap.
